Warm & Alive (the Pirate Ballade)

NEW RELEASE as of APRIL 21st, 2017

It brings me great joy to announce to you that a recording of my song "Warm & Alive," is NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE On Bandcamp! It will soon be available on other stores as well (iTunes, Spotify, etc.) :D

What is 'Warm & Alive' : Well, imagine it as a pirate ballade if-you-will --one that pirates would sing on their long journeys across open & tumultuous waters-- a tale of two lovers separated by unfortunate circumstance; can they one day be reunited and their love fully realized...?

This single is part of an ongoing recording project called Varied Shapes & Sharp Angles (VSSA): Single-by-single I release new songs and old, each with their own unique production, orchestration & musical style. If you go on iTunes right now I've already got 5 singles for you to download (unless of course you are reading this after the release in which case there will be 6 --annnnd now I'm just babbling lol)...

A bit about the recording process...

At Wind Over the Earth Studios --shout out to you guys!-- I had the pleasure of once-again teaming up with Mineral Sound who did a gorgeous job of capturing the romantic & dreamy sonic-sphere that this epic love story calls for. And over the course of only two sessions we were able to lay down the piano, main vocals, vocal harmonies, cello, and clarinet! *Side Note* - You can check out previous recordings we've done together --all of which are part of VSSAGolden, Meadow & Superfood Smoothie ...

How will it absolutely be worth your hard earned 129 cents...? You mean besides the dulcet tones of the grand piano, the deliciousness of Jacob's cello, and my ridiculously amazing voice (lol)? Well, this 10 MINUTE epic tale closes (as if to signify the parting-of-the-clouds) with my incredible husband Fraser Langton who takes the song to a whole new level when the voice of his clarinet --or the voice of his soul rather-- delicately waltzes in to join the piano at the end giving the story a sense of resolution... *SIDE NOTE* - you can hear more of Fraser's playing in another of my previous VSSA releases: 'Hold Your Worries High' . And then there's his recently-released album Rory Boyle: Music for Clarinet, which I must tell you is out of this world.

So, needless to say, I am excited --AND I hope you are too!

OH! before we part, I implore you to LOVE wholeheartedly and to be a warrior for compassion and good in the world.

that is all for now,
